Numerical Simulation of the Combined Effects of Low Salinity Water and Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer Flooding

Low Salinity Water (LSW) and Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) flooding are emerging enhanced oil recovery methods that help recover from the reservoir after primary secondary processes. Experimental studies on LSW ASP have indicated potential in additional recovery. In this paper, numerical simulation was performed to study combined effects of flooding. A heterogenous initially saturated with water modelled using Eclipse. The wells were completed an inverse five-spot pattern production life taken be five years. results showed a salt concentration 1 000 ppm achieved higher than conventional (high salinity) 35 ppm. for 59.5% low salinity 64.1%. overall alkaline, surfactant polymer 64.1%, 70.5% 62.6%, respectively. model increase 91% when injected as same slug opposed injection chemicals individually. This attributed synergy chemicals. alkaline reduce interfacial tension between improves mobility ratio thereby increasing sweep efficiency.
